On October 11th and 12th 91心頭利 University held a symposium titled, Documenting Violence, which included discussions of violent crimes and mass murders in Guatemala, the former Yugoslavia, and the U.S., including the events of September 11, 2001. This June I was invited to the Primate Research Institute (PRI) of Kyoto University as a Distinguished Visiting Senior Lecturer in the area of primate population genomics. My host was Professor Hirohisa Hirai, a former director of the PRI and a leading researcher in the areas of primate molecular cytogenetics and chromosome evolution.
