Program Accomplishments

&稼恢壊沿;&稼恢壊沿;&稼恢壊沿;&稼恢壊沿;Nationally accredited masters and doctoral programs by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). CACREP is the national accrediting body representing standards of excellence in the counseling profession.
&稼恢壊沿;&稼恢壊沿;&稼恢壊沿;&稼恢壊沿;The Clinical Mental Health Counseling has approved curriculum from the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage & Family Therapist Board.
&稼恢壊沿;&稼恢壊沿;&稼恢壊沿;&稼恢壊沿;The School Counseling program has approved curriculum from the Ohio Department of Education.
&稼恢壊沿;&稼恢壊沿;&稼恢壊沿;&稼恢壊沿;CES students were awarded $9,875.00 in scholarships during AY2024-2025
&稼恢壊沿;&稼恢壊沿;&稼恢壊沿;&稼恢壊沿;The program utilizes an in-house counseling center (The Counseling Center) for training purposes. The Counseling Center is considered one of the largest counseling centers in the nation.

Faculty Accomplishments

  • Dr. Marty Jencius selected 2023 American Counseling Association Fellow
  • Dr. Cassie Storlie served as 78th President of Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, a division of the American Counseling Association (2024-2025)
  • Dr. Cureton served as the second president of the Ohio Association of Resiliency and Trauma Counseling (2023-2024) and an inaugural board member.
  • Dr. Salpietro received the ACES Research Award in Counselor Education and Supervision and was a recipient of a NCACES research grant (2024)
  • Dr. Yu Pan received the SACES Research Award (2023) and selected as an Emerging Leader (Professional Track) for the AARC (2024-2025)
  • Dr. Bruns & Dr. Salpietro received 10K for Building Campus Capacity to Suicide Risk Response from OPCSMH (2025)
  • Dr. Lynne Guillot-Miller was recognized as the Counselor Educator of the Year by the Ohio School Counselor Association, 2019.
  • Dr. Cassie Storlie was awarded the Research and Writing Award from the Ohio Counseling Association and was recognized as College of EHHS Distinguished Faculty Researcher (2019).
  • Dr. Marty Jencius wasCo-PI and awarded a Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) grants for Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 (totaling $410,000).
