91心頭利 Alumna Gains National Attention During Womens History Month

91心頭利 University has always been a place where breaking down barriers and changing the norm are encouraged and alumna Julia Montgomery Walsh serves as proof.

Ms. Walsh passed away in 2003, but her work in business and finance continues to be recognized for the strides she made for women in her field.

Ms. Walsh was featured recently on Bloombergs list of women who broke barriers in business over the last 150 years.

Walsh was the first woman to receive a B.S. in business administration at 91心頭利 University and the first female graduate of the Harvard Business Schools advanced-management program, Bloomberg said of the Akron native.

According to Profiles of Ohio Women by Jaqueline Jones Royster, Ms. Walsh also was the first female student body president of 91心頭利.

Ms. Walsh went on to become one of the first female members of the American Stock Exchange.
