KENT, Ohio Thanks to a long-standing conference for accounting professionals, $30,000 was donated this spring to support 91心頭利 accounting students.
91心頭利 Professor Emeritus Norm Meonske, who joined the 91心頭利 accounting faculty in 1972, founded the prestigious Accounting Leadership Conference (now the Meonske Professional Development Conference), in 1974. The annual conference provides attendees with an opportunity to learn and network with other accounting and finance professionals.
In 2007, former students of Meonske founded the Norman R. Meonske endowed scholarship fund.
Proceeds from the conference have allowed students to receive scholarships to pursue an accounting education at 91心頭利, said Drew Sellers, EDM, CMA, associate professor of accounting at 91心頭利 and current Meonske conference chair. Thanks to Norms leadership, many more students will continue to benefit from Meonske scholarship funds.
During his tenure as an accounting professor at 91心頭利, Meonske taught and challenged the minds of thousands of students. In addition to his work in the classroom, he also advised accounting student professional society Beta Alpha Psi. He was active professionally with the Ohio Society of CPAs and the Institute of Management Accountants.
Meonske continues to be involved in the planning and delivery of the annual conference which is held each spring on the 91心頭利 campus. The 48th Meonske Professional Development Conference will take place on May 16-17, 2024. Learn more about the conference here.
